Discover Drypoint Etching
Half Day £65
April: Sat 18th or Fri 24th 10am-1pm
Drypoint is an intaglio printmaking method which involves cutting your design into the surface of a plate with a sharp etching needle. It's originates from techniques used in the medieval period to embellish suits of armour, but at marmalade we like to use Perspex for our plates as it's light and easy to handle. Prints produced from this process have a soft-edged line, but Drypoint Etching can also be used to create amazing and bold graphic images too, if that's more your style.
For the spring/summer programme we are offering half day sessions to discover the magic of Drypoint Etching and a special one off Discover Drypoint Day that will allow you to dive deeply into this fascinating artform.
Both workshops cater for beginners.

Full Day £115
May: Sunday 10th 10am-4:30pm
For anyone who wants to discover the creative possibilities of this printmaking technique in greater depth, we have a whole day of drypoint lined up for you where you can experiment with carborundum and Dremel drills to get some very special textures and surfaces in your prints.
All materials are provided along with tea, coffee and homemade light refreshments but if you are joining for us for the full day session please bring your own lunch with you. Aprons are available but as inking up your plates can be messy we suggest that you leave your best clothes at home when you visit us.
